Virtual Math Lab

Use Blackboard to access the Virtual Math Lab.

Instructions:

1. Go to www.tvcc.cc
2. Select the “down arrow” for “Choose A Link”
3. Select “Blackboard” from the drop-down menu
4. Log into Blackboard using your TVCC student username and password
5. Locate the section “Classes in Which You Are Enrolled” and click on “MATH-TUTOR-Math XYZ” (whatever math level you are enrolled in will be listed). This will take you to the Virtual Math Lab Announcement Page.

If your web browser is Internet Explorer, you will have IE security issues to deal with.

1. Place your cursor over the “Virtual Math Lab” button and right click your mouse.
2. In the dialogue box that opens, click on “Open In A New Window”. You will now be at the “Elluminate Live Session” page. The active session will be in underlined green lettering.
3. Click on this link and you will be taken into the Virtual Math Lab.
4. Be patient. If this is the first time you have accessed the Virtual Math Lab, Elluminate Live! You will need to download some software and deal with IE’s security. This is OK. Eventually you will get to the Virtual Math Lab. Your name will appear in the “Participant” box, along with other tutor’s name.

If you use a different web browser (Mozilla, Firefox, etc.), just click on the Virtual Math Lab button. You will now be at the “Elluminate Live Session” page. The active session will be in underlined green lettering. Click on this link and you will be taken into the Virtual Math Lab. Again, if this is your first time logging into VML, you will be asked to download some software. This is OK.

NOTE: With Internet Explorer, you will have to follow the procedures listed above each time you log in.

With other browsers, once you log in the first time and get all the necessary software downloaded, you won’t have to go through those steps again. Just login to Blackboard. If you have any questions or problems accessing the Virtual Math Lab, please contact Anne Pitcher at apitcher@tvcc.cc.
