Community Education
Treasure Valley Community College's Community Education program embraces the philosophy that education is a lifelong process. Using this framework, our vision encompasses providing quality, lifelong learning opportunities, addressing immediate and future community, business and individual needs, establishing low cost programs to encourage participation, and incorporating flexible and responsive scheduling to meet the unique lifestyles of our diverse student population.

Designed primarily for the adult population, but open to everyone 16 years or older, these classes are offered at various times, locations, and frequency throughout the year. Classes cover the complete spectrum of interests. Academic, cultural, business related, arts, crafts, physical fitness, health, parenting, technology, computers, Basic Office Skills & Computing, and personal growth and development classes are offered at flexible times, in both traditional and non-traditional settings.

Courses are usually designed in one to three hour class increments conducted over a specific period of time. Most courses will not be graded nor will the student receive formal college credit for taking these courses. College credit and/or professional continuing education credit can be obtained for specific courses, if the student desires such credit and the respective courses meet certain educational prerequisites. Community Education courses are offered at TVCC's main campus and other locations including Nyssa.

Scheduled classes and course offerings are announced in a quarterly brochure published approximately four weeks prior to the start date of a respective college quarter. Students can register for courses through the mail, by telephone using a credit card to secure payment, or in person at the Community Education Office, or Off-Campus Centers. For more information contact the Community Education Office at (541)881-5755.
